Rudrani's and Inder's POV
"What are you saying? Are you sure?" Rudrani, Suhasini's cousin grandmother questions Vidhya while giving her judging looks.
"How can you be so careless? How the hell did it happen?" Inder, Rudrani's husband questions Vidhya along with her in a higher voice.
Ved's POV
"How can you talk like that to my wife? Don't ever raise your voice at my wife". I fire back at both of them. I am pissed off by them. Always looking for a reason to create ruckus.
Raghunandan's POV
"Quiet everyone! This is not the time for all this. Vidhya explain to us properly what happened."
I say to everyone while glaring.
Vidhya's POV
"When everyone was giving you your gift, I went in my room to bring your gift. The watch was not there in the cupboard drawer. I checked the whole room thrice, it was not there." I say being almost on the verge of crying.
After taking a deep breath and calming myself I say again what I have realised in past hour or so.
"Thief is from within the family, papaji." I say it with conviction.
"How can you be so sure Vidhya?" Papaji asks me.
"Nothing was messed up. Everything was in it's place. The person knew everything about my room or the place where I kept it." I say by recalling everything.
Raghunandhan POV
"Nobody will sleep tonight. Gather all the staff. Search the entire house." I say to everyone with conviction and determination.
"Don't worry Vidhya we will soon find it , Maharaj ji gather all the staff members and look around the house." I say to our head chef.
Suha get me some water, it's too much to take in. I say to Suha while sitting on sofa.
Yes daddu! Suha says to me.
Suhasini's POV
After giving water to daddu, I thought it was supposed to be a good day. I am unable to believe what has happened. I seriously don't know what to do or say on it.
"Mom, dad please take rest a bit. You guys look tired. Let me check with the staff and see if we can find it." I say to my parents.
Mom and dad give me a sad smile and sits on the sofa.
"Krish , Kabir ( my bua's children) , Anjali and Anshika( my chachu's daughter) and Arjun( my brother) let's go. We should start checking our rooms too. What if somebody kept it there." I say to my siblings.
"Yes! We should , let's go." They say collectively. Everyone goes to their respective room to search the watch.
Sudhir and Sudha POV
"Bhaiya, bhabhi, don't stress! We will find out.
Sudha let's go and check our room". I say to Sudha my wife while looking at her.
"Mom and Dad, you guys should check your room too." I say to my mom and dad(Rudrani and Inder) looking at them.
"Why would we? We have nothing to do with this. We are not searching our room in the middle of the night." Mom says to me arrogantly.
Everyone is done with mom and dad , I can sense it.
"You guys should go and check." I say glaring to them.
Fine! We are leaving. This is heights, why we are getting troubled for this nonsense. Mom keeps on saying something or other while going to the room.
"I sigh. Please ignore her. Sudha let's go" I say while moving towards the room.
Kalyani POV
Are you really sad for the stolen watch? Or there is something else? Kalyani asks Vidhya by taking her hand in hers.
"No! I am actually more afraid of the outcome, who is the one who stole because it's clear , it's someone from the family." Vidhya says to me sadly.
Sighing I say Let's see.
Later in the night
Rudrani POV
"They will never know it's us. They will never know we have been slowly bleeding them out." I say to Inder while laughing evilily.
"But what if they get to know it's us." Inder questions her back tensely.
"Then we will do something, they will never be able to come out of it. Never." Rudrani laughs loudly while drinking her drink evilly.
"I will end Raghunandan's lineage. This is the just beginning of their end. Slowly and steadily, I will finish them all." Rudrani says bitterly.
"I will always support you Rudrani, as I have always supported you." Inder says to pacify her.
"Hmmm...." Rudrani responds absent mindedly.
Author's POV
Rudrani is remembering an old moment when she felt she had been wronged.
It was a time when she had been married for five or six months.
She had declared that she wanted to work.
She was well-educated and wanted to join their family business and actively work there.
Her in-laws had opposed it. Raghunandan has also opposed it. She had hoped that Raghunandan would support her.
Since then, her resentment towards Raghunandan had begun.
She always wanted to work, she wanted authority and power. She always wanted to build her own empire and wealth.
But like every family, the Maheshwaris also had their flaws.
Raghunandan's parents were very orthodox, old-money people. They simply believed that a man should earn the bread and butter while a woman should manage the house and children.
They never let Rudrani and Kalyani work.
But they were never overburdened with household work either. They always had trusted staff who used to manage the household work. They still have. But Rudrani never liked like this. She always felt that whe was being caged. She didn't have freedom and liberty.
And honestly she was never into this marriage either, her family had lied to her, telling her that the man and his family were okay with her working in the business. She didn't marry for love or because she wanted a family. She married for the empire, money, and freedom which she never had at her own parent's house.
Deep down she hates her husband too, she is just using him for her own benefit.
Inder doesn't even realize that he has been hypnotized for a very long time and made to act according to her wishes.
Inder also has certain grudges and disagreements with his brother.
They are both so against him and his family that they don't even realize how inhuman they have both become.
